Erin E. Smythe, LMHC, LPC
Therapist, Practice Owner, & Clinical Director
Erin is a seasoned therapist with over 15 years of dedicated experience in providing compassionate and effective counseling services to children, adolescents, parents, and adults.
Starting her career as a specialist in child and adolescent therapy, Erin developed expertise in addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, and family conflict. She utilizes evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to tailor interventions to the unique needs and developmental stages of her clients.
In her work with parents, Erin provides compassionate guidance and practical strategies to support them in navigating the complexities of parenthood. She offers insights into effective communication, positive discipline, and building strong parent-child relationships, helping parents feel more confident and empowered in their roles.
Additionally, Erin has extensive experience working with young adults (18-30 yrs) as they navigate the transition to adulthood, addressing issues such as identity exploration (including work with LGBTQ+ persons), career development, relationship issues, and life transitions. Through empathetic listening and collaborative goal-setting, Erin helps young adults clarify their values, set meaningful goals, and navigate the challenges of emerging adulthood with confidence and resilience.
Carrington Bowles, MA
Clinical Intern
Carrington is a strengths-based, compassionate, and grounded therapist who works with children, adolescents, families, and individuals. She helps clients navigate the stressors of life by making sure they are seen, understood, and feel empowered to make their own change. Areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, substance use, and addiction.
Her approach is collaborative and compassionate as she uses evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we can understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck and build skills to help you move forward. She enjoys helping clients strengthen self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience while fostering healthier connections with themselves and others.
Carrington is completing her clinical internship with Erin as her supervisor and will be offering therapy services at a low rate of $30 per session. She is available on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Our work is grounded in evidence-based approaches that support meaningful, lasting change.
We primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients understand and shift unhelpful thought patterns, manage intense emotions, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. We also integrate elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), which supports gentle healing of parts shaped by past experiences or trauma. Together, these approaches help reduce anxiety and depression, improve relationships, and create greater emotional balance and resilience.
